No, intellectual property and trademark legal protection happen automatically, without needing to do anything formal. It looks like he did little more than say "help build it, and we'll be partners".
- codexon 17y agoI believe you are thinking of copyright. Patents and trademarks need to be registered in the US.
- jeromec 17y agoFrom wikipedia: Proprietary rights in relation to a trademark may be established through actual use in the marketplace, or through registration of the mark with the trademarks office.
