I love Nina's work and appreciate Sir David Attenborough's focus on population as an issue (though he would never agree with the VHEM). But… My whole perspective on the situation was largely changed when I learned the latest scientific perspectives about predicted population from the incomparable Hans Rosling: http://www.gapminder.org/videos/dont-panic-the-facts-about-population/ http://www.gapminder.org/videos/dont-panic-the-facts-about-p... That said, a good portion (not all) of the foundations of VHEM are valid even if the conclusion and complete package is, well, less valid. I won't go into details here. I sympathize with the feelings, but they aren't really the right perspective in the end.
