Anyone know what Python version comes bundled with El Capitan? I assume it's still 2.7.x, but one can always dream they have moved to Python 3 :)

- dudus 11y agoI'm guessing 2.7 but I think we'll need a few months until the preview is available to know for sure.
- akulbe 11y agoApple's core stuff is generally several minor versions behind: aaron@longview bin % ./python -V Python 2.7.6 aaron@longview bin % pwd /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/bin aaron@longview bin % ./ruby -v ruby 2.0.0p481 (2014-05-08 revision 45883) [universal.x86_64-darwin14] aaron@longview bin % pwd /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/Current/usr/bin I know you're asking about Python, but with Mavericks, it had Ruby 1.8, so I thought it'd make a good point that they keep older stuff for a long time. (That's why I included it.)
