The JDI number represents the number of indeed.com job listings per 1,000 of population.
The job ad counts are pulled from indeed.com api.
The averages are bit misleading, because depending on the city and job terms, the JDI can easily go in to the double digits. I know it's not an apples-to-apples list, just dumped it for entertainment. have more data but HN limits post to 2,000 characters.
