What are the arguments for and against AirBNB being responsible for the behavior of the people using AirBNB?
- jlawer 11y agoWell Airbnb claim to cover hosts : https://www.airbnb.com.au/guarantee https://www.airbnb.com.au/guarantee and market themselves as such.
- stevecalifornia 11y agoIt says they cover property damage and doesn't mention other things like eviction.
- Xylakant 11y agoIs eviction not a form of property damage? In the best case a move costs money. In the worst case it's not even possible to find an appartment at comparable prices.
- saryant 11y agoHow is that property damage?
- dragonwriter 11y agoEviction is not damage to "your property", which is what the airbnb guarantee protects. (It is the termination of a subordinate interest in real property by the person whose property it actually is, but that's a different thing altogether. It seems particularly risky to use AirBnB to rent out someone else's property.)
- mod 11y agoNo. There's no property involved.
