I know around 10 family members and friends who have had it. Over half of them have lasting damage as often people don't realize they have it until they have had it a while. One of them almost died. If my dog can get it, I should be able to choose to get it, even if its not standard. I pick small ticks off my after every hike, its just a matter of time before I get it.
