The stock market will, on average, do better than 10%/year. There will be some -50% years along the way, though.
To get 10% with zero volatility, you have to invest with Bernard Madoff.
- ChuckMcM 11y agoWell I've only been really fully diversified since 2001 but over 2001 to 2015 it hasn't done 10% year over year, closer to 7.8% :-) And that included the tight clench in 2007 - 2009 which is why 'security' and 'return' are inversely related.
