- paulus_magnus 11y agoWorking on something kind of similar: - vector graphics/drawings created by freehand / writing http://write-live.com/d/dba21681-8d3f-4fbe-8b4b-e5c1983df934 http://write-live.com/d/dba21681-8d3f-4fbe-8b4b-e5c1983df934 http://write-live.com/d/8f9b7846-a7b9-4e5c-b704-dad9aa87d14e http://write-live.com/d/8f9b7846-a7b9-4e5c-b704-dad9aa87d14e - unlimited* levels of zoom http://docs.write-live.com/WriteliveServer/webview.html?d=3483c3de-b329-4af1-97d7-2d7f27d96ad1 http://docs.write-live.com/WriteliveServer/webview.html?d=34... - draw on a tablet, view on tablet / web http://write-live.com/d/538254c5-7d31-41f2-83bb-bcd0a7cee7ab http://write-live.com/d/538254c5-7d31-41f2-83bb-bcd0a7cee7ab A bit like if google docs had a baby with OneNote
- thatcat 11y agosounds a bit like bigpicture.js with drawing; good stuff! https://github.com/josephernest/bigpicture.js https://github.com/josephernest/bigpicture.js
- paulus_magnus 11y agoThanks, didn't know about bigpicture.js. The whole idea isn't that super new. Not sure if I communicated it across: Writelive drawings are always updated in real time. Think shared whiteboard. Co-drawing / co-writing. Currently you can only view via web. Drawing is limited to Android - drawing without a pressure sensitive stylus offers bad experience anyway.
- HardyLeung 11y agoI tried out the zooming capability (nice) but it seems like your stroke width does not change in response to the zoom level (at least not in lock step)? So the redness in the lady's dress changes as you zoom. Isn't that a problem?
- paulus_magnus 11y agoTrue. I'm on the fence here. Keeping "real" thickness slows down rendering by a factor of 1.5-2 depending on browser used. Images look better though. I'm not sure what users want at this stage of the project. Perhaps a toggle?
- ffn 11y agoReally cool idea, especially if you guys are going to build github for SVGs... but it looks like you guys have a bug in your process. Consider the workflow I attempted to do: 1. sign up 2. go through the little tutorial 3. get prompted to name a new project 4. do so, and it now feels broken (unresponsive) 5. navigate back to the project/:projectId page 6. click new design 7. select "blank" 8. get to a 404 page with the following url: https://inlinehq.com/projects/39653/designs/new?template_id=undefined https://inlinehq.com/projects/39653/designs/new?template_id=... Also, the new design button is really unresponsive, please consider making that button aware if it has promises waiting to for your server to fulfill.
- yellowapple 11y ago* "New Design" button is buggy on Firefox/Conkeror on OS X Yosemite (had to go to "Projects" and back into my "Test" project in order to make it actually do anything on click). * No apparent way to use custom fonts (I want to use Computer Modern Unicode Serif to make my things TeXy, but that's not an option). * Also no apparent way to use existing icons that I may already have (like a company logo or somesuch). * I was required to create an account before even receiving any semblance of an introduction on what this thing even is. * The "Path" tool's crosshair is offset from where the path is actually drawn, which is incredibly annoying. This is also the case for the "Text" tool.
- andersriutta 11y agoLooks good. If I can make a feature request, it would be great to see something like the Flickr Commons + GitHub for vector graphics, where people could release their work with a permissive license so others could search and reuse it, with the option to collaboratively improve it.
