I don't know why this comment is so downvoted. At its roots (which is what the headline is referring to), mathematical inquiry is an activity invented by humans for their own amusement. We mathematicians do what we do because it brings us aesthetic pleasure to understand the nature of some mathematical thing. If the use of computers removes that pleasure then mathematicians will stop doing mathematics.
