In general, Windows has a vastly higher market share than OS X, so yeah I think a lot of people do choose to use it. And it has everything to do with touchscreens because touchscreens are just another example in the long history of Microsoft offering features that OS X simply doesn't have. I bet you'll be singing the praises of touch screens on OS X when Apple finally catches up.
