I understood your question as a description of this situation: the combination of you/someone having a constant desire for "more money" and the other party turning you down by default. That sounded like a sad cooperation to me. For you/someone: the other party is never interested in an constructive cooperation/dialogue. For the other party: you/someone sees the work itself as second (or less). But as I now read you enjoy it by itself, I misunderstood.
