I don't know if any studies have confirmed this, but it seems that smarter people are more susceptible to severe depression.

- thuffy 11y agoMany people have recognized this fact. Hemingway for example. "Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know." -- Hemingway In a world of corruption such as this, the smarter you are, the harder it is to remain unconscious of that fact and thus not be miserable. Figuring out what to do about it, which means also having realized that it is not impossible to fix, is the only cure (other than lobotomizing yourself). For those in pre-solution-realization phase, read "Atlas Shrugged" for the start of an effective cure.

- flycaliguy 11y agoLikewise, I believe there are correlations between depression and strong memory skills.
