So basically you're advocating a single LLVM like solution over diversity? I don't think that would be able to provide the "prefect" solution to everyone's problem. There are so many solutions because there are so many problems. And to say that programming languages and platforms don't influence each other is no more correct than saying human languages don't influence each other. But maybe I have missed your point?
