It's having someone who is knowledgeable about a subject in place to translate the President's position into one that would make sense to other knowledgeable people.
- jkestner 11y agoThat wouldn't be terribly useful to us. I'd rather it work in the other direction - translating technical knowledge into something the president can use to shape better policy. Once our government loses its technical ignorance, we won't have to use Hanlon's Razor to excuse them.
- LordKano 11y agoI agree, that would be more useful and I too would rather it was the other way 'round but unfortunately, that's not how things work. The people who have the political cloud and the numbers to drive policy aren't necessarily the ones with the best understanding of the issues.
