One of his graduate students was my instructor for Social Psychology at UC Santa Cruz. Apple has - or at least had, in the mid-nineties - an internal discussion board which permits complete anonymity. I was the only participant who used his real name. I once offered to lend my own copy of The Social Animal to any Apple employee who would read it. My reason for doing so was that I observed many of my coworkers experiencing or exhibiting the kinds of things discussed in his chapter on self-justification. No one took me up on my offer. Not even one.
