Probably because a lot of twitter clients, or others are no good with Unicode. TweetDeck for example looses the heart symbol, and I have seen your post come out

Probably because a lot of twitter clients, or others are no good with Unicode. TweetDeck for example looses the heart symbol, and I have seen your post come out as "The article title was "OpenId ♥ foaf+ssl" here:
