So glad we don't rely on GitHub for our deployments anymore, we haven't had an outage to git in the past year yet it seems GitHub goes down more often than people realise. Obviously DDOS attacks are nearly impossible to mitigate for anyone but it should serve as a reminder of companies dependencies on external services. Somewhat related I highly recommend both Gogs and Gitlab for internal git hosting.
