Theoretically such store-and-forward systems may provide better anonymity than tor due to the lack of a realtime demand. I'm interested in seeing what comes of these proposals. However they are unlikely to even try to tackle the privacy/anonymity issues. Every router knows every piece of content you request, not just the host you connect to.
