Mountains of Mouthness – WebGL Experiment

- jalfresi 11y agoThis is hilarious! The voices are excellent and its just so bonkers absurd with the random junk on twitter being shouted out into my headphones. Instantly shared this with everyone :)
- dvirsky 11y agoI could listen to this shit all day if it wasn't hogging my CPU (probably my nouveau driver on Linux, not the site's fault). Really really nice!
- shurcooL 11y agoIt's great how this just works on my iOS device.

- robinduckett 11y agoI love this, so much. I wasn't aware you could modify the text to speech and add effects.
- hccampos 11y agoYes, the voices are provided by the acapela group. You can check their website here: http://www.acapela-group.com http://www.acapela-group.com
- moron4hire 11y agoit is a tad 'spensive http://www.acapela-vaas.com/pricing.html http://www.acapela-vaas.com/pricing.html
- nergal 11y agoGreat stuff!
- RyanMcGreal 11y agoAlas, the audio doesn't seem to work in Firefox (37.0.2).
- mrstubbles 11y agoWorks for me, but I think it was muted at first.
- DiThi 11y agoAudio not working here either, same FF version. It works with Chrome.
- pierrec 11y agoActually, upon closer inspection, in Chrome it starts in a buggy state where the sound is enabled but the speaker icon (at the bottom of the page) is set to mute. In Firefox, the buggy state doesn't occur: it's initially muted and you have to click on the speaker icon to enable the sound.
- firegrind 11y agoThanks - I was so busy looking at the mountains I didn't see the unmute button. Well worth a reload !
- koalala 11y agothis is brilliant! the voices are really funny.
- rg_ 11y agoReally cool! We found a bug displaying certain characters: http://imgur.com/C0E3HOV http://imgur.com/C0E3HOV
- hccampos 11y agoOh yes, the font we are using does not include some characters. Our guys who created the experiment are aware of the problem and will probably try to come up with a fix soon.
- tudorw 11y agoLove the styling, kudos
- herrpotemkin 11y agoThank you!
- herrpotemkin 11y agoHi all! I'm so glad you like it! The mountains were made by the design team to stress test our WebGL tool Goo Create.
- edsole 11y agoAwesome, would listen to this all day with #jokes keep me smiling all day!!
- Digitumn 11y agoI've been laughing all day to this :)
- vegancap 11y agoHaha I witnessed a 'Yo mamma' joke, day made.
- booleanbetrayal 11y agothis is fantastic!
- exogen 11y agoIf anyone is wondering what "become a villager" means on your phone or tablet – try it, it's cool! You are placed on the ground in the town, and physically move your phone around to control where you're looking. I could see the mountains talking but not hear them though (even after unmuting).
- Kiro 11y agoThe audio works for me on Android (Chrome).
- fuzzywalrus 11y agoDamn impressive - minor glitch, mouths occasionally animate before voices are triggered. Overall, fantastic and weirdly enthralling. Thanks!
- herrpotemkin 11y agoNice to hear! And no, it's not perfect at all but still fun! We will try to find time to improve it a bit soon.

- krylon 11y agoThe visuals are gorgeous, but the sound is not working. All I get is some background noise, but no voices. The idea, in general, is awesome!
- Kiro 11y agoToo bad you can't hear the voices. Those are what makes this so great. You should try it in another browser.
- yellowapple 11y agoThere's a mute button in the bottom left corner. For some reason it defaults to being muted on Firefox/Conkeror.
- Animats 11y agoThis needs a better data source than Twitter. I suggest Fox News.
