  Oh that one was "In Xanadu" - William Dalrymple. I should probably revise "some shitty paperback", what I mean is, I picked it up for $2, creased and it's a "travel writing" genre page turner. Time reading it has been time well spent :)

    Thanks for letting me know :) Yeah he is a good writer. I bought his book "The last Mughal" last year but haven't managed to read it yet. I'll also keep an eye out for "In Xandu"
