I find that people associated with things I'm interested in often have terrible things to say about different things I'm interested in. (For example I come across a lot of hostile anti-HN sentiment at conferences and among coworkers, HN pretty much hates John Gruber, etc) I'm not sure what that's a sign of, exactly, but I feel like if it were a filter bubble there would be less of that.
