I just started using CPPCAT for a small safety critical embedded project. I'm a "indie" developer so even at $250 a year it was the most expensive software I use. [I use Visual Studio but that costs less per year.]
I can't blame them for leaving the low cost market. Customers with small budgets often (usually?) have a lower ROI than customers with large budgets.
