How can there be a "best product possible" without taking the prospective user into account? A phone that was so thin it sliced my finger, or so small that I couldn't see it, wouldn't be a very good phone at all. What Apple does really well is design products that very large numbers of people want to buy, and if there are a very large number of people who want to buy a gold watch, Apple will make it for them.
