Yahoo Revenue Misses Estimates as CEO’s Turnaround Sputters Business
- bruceb 12y agoMayer and company are talking about the earning right now: http://finance.yahoo.com/topics/yahoo-q1-2015-earnings/ http://finance.yahoo.com/topics/yahoo-q1-2015-earnings/
- grandalf 12y agoThe Yahoo home page is a spammy disaster. Why would any user or investor think it was going anywhere? Just look at the google home page to get a sense of how to build trust with users. It's not trying to trick you into clicking a sponsored link, not wasting your CPU on huge banner ads. I would have to be paid $1K per year to switch to a yahoo email account, and I'm not even sure I'd be happy with the offer.
- vidoc 12y agolooks like you are not bleeding purple!
- mixmastamyk 12y agoCringe. Funny story--The last and only time I heard that expression was in reference to the guy who had architected their search platform. Of course, several months later he quit and took a job at Microsoft.
- o0-0o 12y agoI'll pay you 1000 dollars to use one for the year if you document it, sell me the rights, and split the proceeds 50/50. I have some choice emails too.
- amirmansour 12y agoI'll seriously take you up on that offer, if you truly meant it.
- grandalf 12y agoIf you're serious, I'd actually do it.
- mixmastamyk 12y agoAgreed. I complained about mile-long pages over a decade ago. The current yahooo incarnation is a bit shorter, but denser than ever. I understand that the look is desired in Asian markets, but not over here. TL;DR: Someone needs to teach Yahoo about the value of white space.
- nashequilibrium 12y agoDid you actually read the earnings report? The issue is not the homepage and their mobile business has increased significantly but overall business is lacklustre.
