The only reasonable way to stop that is do not buy shit from them. I had an HP printer that wouldn't run if the ink cartridge wasn't original HP, which are expensive as hell, so I dumped it and never bought HP again. Now Epson is selling printers with refillable cartridges. Guess who's gonna get my money if I ever need a printer again? Free market in action.
