I agree. I almost never downvote. I try to read commentS that I disagree with in a charitable fashion. It seems rather small minded to not be able to consider views outside your own. It would be nice to see some metrics associated with members such as their up vote to down vote ratio. I suspect that a very few members do most of the down voting.
