Thanks for bringing reason to the commentary. I/we often lambaste media for not highlighting the other side, or being reasonable, but even though this story comes from "our side" they have left out enough information to try and cultivate outrage. This tactic is abhorrent from any publication.

Its an EFF publication. The EFF is a lobby group specifically catered towards our opinion. The EFF is doing their job. The important part is to recognize that bias is part of their job. And just as the EFF does a good job at recognizing "hacker culture" and representing us in the press, we have to look at other news sources to get the full picture.
