It's not that the represent them majority, it's that, by sheer volume, they've managed to set the terms of the the debate to suit their own viewpoint, biases, and beliefs. Even movement has its fruitcakes and its lunatics, but when they're the ones setting the agenda, it becomes a real problem and actively undermines the otherwise noble, sensible aims.
