- cfreeman 11y agoThey're called grid fins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grid_fin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grid_fin I believe they are less to "keep it upright", but for better accuracy. The rocket doesn't really having a hard time staying upright because all of the weight is on the bottom where the engines are.
