Yeah, I rather love LaTeX too, but debugging is probably its biggest weakness. Especially the types of errors where the error message indicates an error in a line after where the error actually is, because of how the parser works. Those take me forever to find. It doesn't happen to me as much anymore, I've added a few vim plugins that help a lot (like rainbow parenthesis).
