- mmarx 12y agoAlso, it's not even tetris, but tritris: “I did not want to use the original TETRIS figureset (which consists of all tetrominoes) to avoid being yet another exact tetris clone. Pentominoes are too irregular and will crowd the place pretty quickly, triminoes are too few and too easy to fit, so I tried a set of all "pseudo-triminoes" – 3 square blocks where squares are connected on an edge or a vertex. There are 6 different shapes (5 if you consider mirror images the same). They are quite a bit easier to fit than tetromimoes, but not exactly trivial.”
- TheLoneWolfling 12y agoOn the one hand, I get what you're saying. On the other hand, I disagree with what you're saying. Ultimately, I disagree. The platform is well-defined, and as MSX Basic has faculties for loading machine code... It makes sense. The bigger problem is that it's not even actually tetris.
- gress 12y agoAre you really defending the idea that the Tetris is written in basic? Even the author says it's written in assembler. It's just the title that is misleading.
