There are a few use cases where we don't have a suitable replacement for Flash yet: media capture and low latency video streaming. Until WebRTC is widespread in IE (and Safari to a lesser extent), ditching Flash entirely is impractical. As someone who's spent too much time wrangling Flash and RTMP, good riddance.
