I would like to see the design world move on from modernism. It tends towards the spare and geometric, and frequently divorced from the general concerns and oriented towards the artistic aspirations of the designer. As a simple example, consider the the 'flat' stylings. In a number of cases in my experience, the flat style made it harder to use the program. That is aggravating - it was art change for the sake of art change, adhering to the tired old modernist ideas.
