I would like to see Google "eat their own dogfood" before I invest in Go.
Or do they already use Go in production?
- uriel 17y agogoglang.org runs Go.
- olaf 17y agoI meant real business like GMail or similar.
- ekiru 17y agoDo you want your email server to use a language that even the developers admit isn't yet ready for production?
- tedunangst 17y agoYou have reversed the sense of olaf's point.
- olaf 17y agoNo, I did not write that, but since there is no serious Go-application inside Google, their management could very easily "pull the plug" and no longer support this experiment. I would probably fear that, if I would invest time in learning Go. I don't understand why the team did release Go to the public at this early stage of development, what they expect from the developer community.
- Semiapies 17y agoI agree as to "investing", but as to experimenting with and trying out, I don't see why not. And the site running on Go seems to be puttering along nicely...
