I have a couple of old laptops. So when I saw your post, I thought about pulling out the old motherboard, etc and installing a Raspberry Pi 2 in its place. Might be tricky to get the old LCD to work correctly.
Has anybody successfully got this sort of re-engineering working?
- undersuit 12y agoA number of people have been successful with the DSI connector on the Pi, but the monitors you can use are radically different that what you'd find in a laptop. http://elinux.org/RPi_Screens#Interfacing_to_non-monitor_LCD_panels http://elinux.org/RPi_Screens#Interfacing_to_non-monitor_LCD... Oh and there is a HDMI to LVDS breakout board floating around somewhere.
