Before authoring commits that I plan to send to Github, I run: git config user.email $github_username@users.noreply.github.com Frankly I'm surprised spammers aren't a bigger problem on Github, given that it's one of the few websites that makes it fairly easy to get a plaintext dump of large numbers of email addresses.
