Hell Yeah. When you are building a mission-oriented company and trying to change the world it’s important to work with investors who understand what that means to you and who are fully aligned with it. This is especially important when your profits drive your purpose. Otherwise you will have a lot of fun figuring this out ;)
- ramchip 12y agoWhat's a "mission-oriented" company?
- robotresearcher 12y agoBible manufacturer.
- suchow 12y agoA ship whose captain would rather it sink than change course.
- dandare 12y agoTell us more please. We are pre-seed for-profit with a mission (or for-profit arm of a non-profit company, we don't know yet) and we may have an option to join an accelerator (not YC but one with a good reputation too). What was your legal structure? How did the investor influenced your decisions? Didn't he see that what is best for the mission is best for the profit side of the company too? Did you have any clause stating that part of the revenue will be spent on the mission? I suppose profit is a different think.
