This also came to me as strange. It came to me that someone who is being rejected may not have good prospects in the future for succesful procreation. So having such individuals' nature turn self-destructive / aggressive will ensure he/she get further rejected. Increasing the selection process: only the socially/behaviourally fit remains in the community.
