I hate to disagree but I find it rather refreshing to in a way get to know ones co-members. Who are all these up and down voters? Purely from a data perspective too - might there be hidden pattern to be found? Anyways, I agree, that this isn't your reddit clone but still, certainly we can discuss music now and then - without making a lolcat reference? edit: Forgot my playlist. I'm honestly currently not listening to music though If I fire up audacious my playlist is filled with... The Fountainhead - part 16 The Fountainhead - part 17

You're stretching yourself mighty thin conceptually there. Finding hidden patterns in music listening? The only pattern we might find is that certain types of music are listened to more among programmers than others. I'd place bets on Led Zeppelin and electronica—those are the stapleholds of computer people—but even if I'm wrong, I haven't learned much. Hacker News is hitting its adolescence, trying to figure out if it wants to be a serious grown-up or a more playful person. I'd prefer the serious grown-up community. If I wanted to discuss music, I'd do it on Facebook or Reddit, depending on how willing I'd be to get into arguments with douches.
