- dalke 12y agoThe proposal leads to madness. The idea is that there's a migration path so eventually there will be CREATE instead of CREAT. Long experience shows that will never happen. There's a lot of code which is effectively unmaintained, because it works. Not enough people will go through the code to add an "if CREATE flag exists" path, and then - once all of the compilers support it - go again through the code and remove the dead code. Instead, the world will effectively have two different ways to write exactly the same thing, forever.
