That's horrible. I've spent many a days at events (e.g. Code For Orlando) where you're expected to work for free, but they provide food, for one day on a volunteer basis to better your city. But that's the clincher: It's only one day (on a weekend so it doesn't compete with your dayjob interests), it's completely volunteer, and it's fun. A soul-draining corporate job without a salary? I shudder.
