Sharp Edge?
(Being a church-goer, it feels blasphemous. (I know, I'll get downvoted wildly. It's OK, go ahead. ;-))
- bmj 17y agoI remember when the diocese "de-commissioned" the church when it was sold. Many local Catholics were very upset.
- sjs382 17y agoBoo, sharp edge. Haha. How about some place with super cheap drinks? Dee's Cafe on East Carson? I think it's on the 1400 block.
- bcostlow 17y agoConsidering the number of breweries founded or run by Roman Catholic religious orders, I can't think of a better purpose for a deconsecrated church. On the other hand, upvoted for honesty in the face of certain derision.
- cpr 17y ago(Brian, is that you? ;-) Yes, you're probably right. Nothing wrong with breweries or beer from a Catholic perspective--in fact, much right with them--but the way they converted it is creepy, putting the big tanks right on the old altar.
- rms 17y agoI think it's supposed to be tounge-in-cheek.
- codemonkey 17y agoI'm told it was the only viable way to save the building. It was going to be torn down. It's a beautiful place - I'd rather see it turned into a classy brew house than razed. Now, if they turned it into a strip club - THAT would be creepy.
