I've been using Privoxy (http://www.privoxy.org http://www.privoxy.org) for a while - seems to do a good enough job for me (though I've noticed that transitioning from HTTP to HTTPS seems to get stuck sometimes).
Plus, it means on those rare occasions when I fire up IE, I also see fewer ads.
