You're lucky if you find an ethical company that isn't fucking someone over intentionally somewhere. To be fair the most interesting position I had was working for a giant company who's fortunes were amassed working on the most efficient ways of killing people. Eventually the experience builds cynicism and you either end up accepting it, succumbing to depression or going "meh" and returning the compliment. Healthy attitude is doing what matters which is what the parent is saying.
