This is very true. My moderately successful office design website is pitched for pre-written content from PR firms all the time. Before I understood that they just wanted their clients on my website I felt very flattered that I was getting some sort of "scoop". EDIT: I also see these videos as trying to appeal to normal people and make them feel like watch enthusiasts. The video is well-made, but as you say, the components themselves aren't particularly interesting for actual watch enthusiasts.
