How I built my first Android Game
- StavrosK 12y agoWhat's with all the kukuruku articles on the front page? Where did this site come from?
- pavel_lishin 12y agoNo clue, but "kukuruku" sounds a lot like the Russian onomatopoeia for the sound a rooster makes, and the submitter has the word "skazka" in his or her name, which is the Russian word for "tale" or "story".
- StavrosK 12y agoHah, same for Greece, although it's "kikiriku" here. We have a wafer candy thing called "kukuruku", which makes the site's name funny to me. And also delicious.
- fierycatnet 12y agokukuruku sounds like the waffles brand that they used to sell in Russia..
- pavlov 12y agoWhenever I see "kukuruku", I start hearing this song in my head: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuYKOx834Pw&t=149 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuYKOx834Pw&t=149
- GVRV 12y agoI start hearing this version though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nAJwa7_P9E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nAJwa7_P9E
- djloche 12y agoIt seems like an alternative to Medium.com. I suspect that if people continue to use it, it will get the same initial penalty as Medium submissions.
- skazka16 12y agoI'm the founder. Kukuruku Hub is a collaborative blogging for engineers, designers, etc, meaning that any user can write an article and publish it to an appropriate hub. Kukuruku is more like a hobby than a real business.
- StavrosK 12y agoAh, I see. I just found it odd that there's been an uptick of submissions from it lately.
- KAdot 12y agoKukuruku is a clone of Russian Habrahabr website, it mostly contains translations of posts from http://habrahabr.ru/ http://habrahabr.ru/.
- _afsaar 12y agoI am the author of this article. You can download the game from Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.halftspgames.romeorocket https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.halftspgam...
- smallcase 12y agoVery very addictive game! Thrilled to know its a first time attempt. Keep developing, and sharing such insights! all the best
- gghh 12y agonice! What game engine did you use?
- _afsaar 12y agoMario Zechner's Book mentions the early version of libGDX, I have used it.
- zura 12y agoIt would be great if you put more details on actual artwork - how did you make it, what tools did you use, etc...
- sakhala 12y agoAny link (or bunch of links) for specific tutorial that you have followed?
- _afsaar 12y agoYou should read Mario Zechner's book before starting the development process.
- _abattoir 12y agoInteresting take on creativity. Applying the scientific method to more and more disciplines seems to be a trend lately. I agree with the reasoning, but am curious how iterative creativity can be applied on the individual scale for projects that take longer than a month and a half to complete.
- _afsaar 12y agoMost important thing about iterative creativity is the cycle of iteration. When the project is distributed the cycle automatically becomes large which slows down the iteration cycle. That is the reason why startup succeed at coming up with interesting solutions in the beginning of the there journey.
