I remember the first time I visited San Francisco: I was so excited to visit a city I'd heard so much about. There's a bar there which is supposed to be even better than one of my local ones; I arrived and discovered that a) it sold no food; b) the prices were double; c) the selection was worse; d) it stank of urine. That entire city was a colossal let-down. I was so glad to return home. Maybe I should have had lower expectations?
