As a person working in the technology industry (a much more centralized niche), it presents a tremendous trade-off between quality of life and opportunity." I live in the midwest and visited Cleveland last year. Outside of about two streets downtown, it's pretty much a ghost town at night. Many, many businesses have left over the past 5 years because of the economy.
