Ask HN: KDE vs. GNOME, which is better?
Which of these two do think is better, and what makes it better?
- jamesbritt 17y agoBetter for what? I like kde3 over gnome for assorted config options (like different backgrounds on each desktop) but maybe that makes no difference to others. On the other hand kde4 copies the most annoying ui features of Vista so I avoid using it. These are also not the only windows and desktop managers, so why is the choice between those two?

- r11t 17y agoGnome-Do which in-spite of its name works with both Gnome and KDE is basically a Quicksilver inspired launcher : http://do.davebsd.com/ http://do.davebsd.com/ is the perfect power tool for Linux Desktop users.
