Location: San Francisco, CA GinzaMetrics is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, with additional locations in Tokyo and Europe. We produce a content intelligence SaaS platform that is used every day by brands, agencies, and ecommerce companies to increase revenue and growth via SEO & content marketing. Our customer base now spans 45 countries with data coverage in over 120 countries and 25 languages. Job Description: The Director / VP of Engineering will report directly to the CEO and is responsible for the overall quality and delivery of new product features and high quality operations. The ideal candidate will bring energy, experience and commitment to our mission as a company. You'll run the development and technical operations team and work with other departments in order to provide a high level of quality communication. This is a management role but it is also very hands-on, technically speaking. Our stack / tools: - Ruby / Rails - MySQL / PostgreSQL - JavaScript - jQuery - Angular.js - Highcharts - D3.js - Amazon S3 - Lots of APIs (ad networks, social networks, etc.) - Redis - Resque - Github - Memcache - Chef - Jenkins Technical Requirements: We're looking for an engineering level with senior level, full-stack experience in Ruby on Rails or similar environment (experience in other languages and frameworks such as Python / Python frameworks is fine, but we're not going to rewrite things in your favorite language). - Strong understanding and experience with UNIX / Linux tools and concepts - Familiar with web application security principles / encryption best practices - Ability to ramp up in our environment and be productive in 1 week (we provide a comprehensive ramping-up guide) - Solid understanding and experience in SQL and SQL optimization (indexes, queries, write-read performance, etc.) - Solid understanding of NoSQL principles and tradeoffs - Solid understanding of distributed systems / architectures - Strong knowledge of unicode / internationalization / encoding issues Bonus / really great to have: - Understanding / experience with large-scale ETL - Understanding / experience large-scale data warehousing technologies - Understanding / experience with OLAP (we don't use MDX, etc. but understanding this sort of model will help you adapt to our platform quickly) - Experience with Cassandra, Storm, Kafka and / or similar tools - Experience with web crawling, text mining and headless browser automation Other Requirements: - Fanaticism about our market and our product - Ability / willingness to quickly ramp up on our industry and become an expert in the field - Courage - Ability to communicate well and make recommendations in the context of an overall set of possible solutions, with benefits / tradeoffs for each - Humility towards team members, hubris towards opportunity - Self-starter Website: www.ginzametrics.com How to apply: Email us your LinkedIn URL and github profile (if you have any open source code or contributions) at hackers@ginzametrics.com.
